The clicking noise is from the fuel injection system.

The valve train clicks normally.

The fuel injectors click normally.

How many measured miles on the engine, to your knowledge?

The valve train does not click normally. We have zero lash hydraulic adjusters. If the valves click, something is terribly wrong. The ticking is all injector sounds. And these are some of the loudest injectors I've ever heard.

I noticed the clicking sound too. This is the first car I ever had that made that sound. Glad to know it is normal.

It's probably the direct injection. My Duramax diesel has direct injection and the "clicking" sounds similar.

If there's one thing i've learned, it's that Jack Bauer, or a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick are the 2 answers to all of life's problems.

Everyone keeps talking about this clicking noise, but I have never been able to hear it. I've even had friends come into the car when I pick them up with the car running comment on it, and I still can't hear it.

I think I have a really terrible ear for engines... I probably wouldn't even be able to tell if my engine was knocking.
