Question Mark Levinson worth the extra $4k?

Is the mark levinson sound system worth the extra $4k over the next step down? It looks like basically its 330 watts instead of 180 or something and an extra speaker (Subwoofer) and ability to play dvd and I guess the speakers are a bit better quality... but its an extra $4,000! is it really worth it? I know I could do aftermarket upgrade for alot less and have it sounding better then the ML but I just dont feel like ripping apart the audio on a new car.

Do a research I think this topic was posted already. I think the extra speaker is not the subwoofer, If I remember correctly it is the center speaker. ML system can play dvd also.

ML is actually 1200 or so, its 4k if you get it with navigation, you can get it alone if you special order it

The ML system is NOT the stock system with an extra speaker.

It's a completely different configuration. Not only that, it has a DVD player instead of a CD player.

There is plenty of info regarding this matter, and you can use "Search" to find answers to your questions.

However, to simply answer your question: IT IS DEFINATELY WORTH IT WITH THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM!!!

ML does NOT imply DVD. ML+NAV (code VN) has the DVD, ML by itself is CD.

So the ML and nav would still be +$4,000 compared to just navigation...yes I know how to search, just didnt really get anything too specific

My understanding of the ML is that it's not just an extra speaker, but that all the speakers are replaced with higher quality ones and that an additional speaker is added. Im not quite sure though.

Navigation + Mark Levinson = $3,990

Lexus Premium Sound System
-Automatic Sound Levelizer
-In dash 6 disc CD changer
-13 speakers
-194 watts

Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System

-Automatic Sound Levelizer
-In dash 6 disc CD changer
-14 speakers
-300 watts
-7.1-channel architecture
-10 channel amp 20-20kHz @ <.1% Total Harmonic Distortion
-Proprietary Metal Cone Midrange and Tweeter Transducers
-MLS Audio Software, Optimizes discrete 5.1 channel playback FM & CD
-All Digital Signal Path SPDIF (reduces interferences and noise pickup)
-Wide format compatibility

If you get the Nav option, the ML will come with a 6 disc DVD changer.

Navigation is not available in Hawaii, I wish I could have got the same discount if I special ordered it just for the DVD's.

All info found here
http://www.marklevinsonlexus.com/index.asp

I cant seem to find specifics about the stock and ML speakers besides the metal cone @ mids & tweets.
