Default What If ...........

Out of curiosity.....

What if you accidently press the ENGINE START STOP button while driving? Would the engine automatically shuts down or would the car continue driving as if the button was never pressed? Very curious about this one since this button is located close to the PWR/ECT switch, which I use occasionally while driving.

Nothing will happen. To turn off the engine, you must press and HOLD the button for like 4 seconds.

This reminds me of a bonehead thing I did the other week, I was at a stop light and was on the bluetooth phone. Wanted to hang it up but instead of pressing the hang up button on the wheel, I pressed the engine off button. Whoops!

i think its a good question. i know some of my ex's would push it if she knew it would shut it off while we were driving...anything to get her point across and just to do some damage

thats when you need to open the car door as you go around the corner haha

if you are going under a certain speed, it turns off just by pushing it. Over a certain speed, you need to hold the button for 4 seconds or more for the car to turn off. A little safety feature.

I wonder what that speed is. Maybe I'll try it just for fun.....with say 15 mph with one tap to the button. So if I post tomorrow, it means I'm still in one piece.
