It does. I think it starts showing up (for a few seconds when you start the car) about 500 miles before the recommended service interval. Once the service interval has passed, the message, along with an annoying bright orange-red exclaimation point, are on full time.

It definately is there. I just had the 5k done a couple days and the reminder started popping up somewhere around 4500 on the odometer. Then, after the service is done and I get past 5k, I kept getting a reminder popping up on the nav screen. Come to find out it was a reminder that the dealer had set up...took me a few minutes to find it and delete it.

Hopefully there's a way for us to turn that warning off after each oil change, as I do all my own regular maintenance. (I just need to read the manual and find out)

Yes, I don't remember the exact procedure to reset it, but it's in the owners manual.

Hold down the trip odometer reset button on the instrument panel while pushing the start button twice and your foot off the brake. The odometer will show a series of dashes, disapearing one by one from left to right over about a 5 second period. When the last dash disapears the oil service reminder is reset.

I reset my reminder yesterday afternoon. I will have my 5000 mile service done tomorrow.

cmusic, thanks for posting this. The wife's IS started flashing the reminder on the display, and she's complaining about it.

Between that and the dumb tire pressure monitoring error message we have going on right now, its like an old-time pinball machine in our IS250! The multiple error messages alternate, if anyone is interested

Cool

Thanks cmusic! It would be good to have that posted under the Frequently Asked Questions thread besides being buried in this thread.
