Not a safety feature, as many people would like to believe. There's no proof that DRLs do anything to improve daytime visibility of oncoming cars.
I would find a different dealer. Like others have said, they can be turned off. My dealer did it, no questions asked.
When I drive home from work I drive into the sun and DRL's definately make it easier for me to see oncoming traffic. The best example I can use to justify the beneifts of DRL's is just after a brief afternoon rain storm that gets the roads all wet and allows water to steam off of the hot ashpalt only then to be follow by bright, glaring sunlight bouncing off the road. This is proof enough for me.
You bastard... I noticed you had your DRL's turned off on the way home from AeroTect Sunday, and I was instantly jealous
