I bought the Heatshield sold by Sewell. Fits perfect, and using it in combination with the rear sunshade keeps the car much cooler.

Down here in So. Florida, getting into your car is hell on earth without these things. You really can appreciate how much faster the car cools down after having it sitting in the sun all day.

Is it just me or does the Heatshield seem to shrink over time? I pressed it against the windshield and it doesn't reach the edges of the windshield anymore (it used to).

Does anyone know if the spring shades with the foldable 2 circles are still being made? I have been looking to replace my 5 year old 2 circle ones which fit very nice, but I can only find the foldable 2 rectangle shades that do not fit well.

Is there a site where I can still buy the 2 circle foldable sun shades?

Default New Front Sunshade Recommendations?

Good afternoon,

I'm looking for some recommendations on a sunshade for the front of my car. I have searched this forum a bit already (and read the FAQ), so I want to help set some ground rules (and explain why nothing I found so far "fits the bill").

1. I really don't want to spend more than $50 unless it's something amazing. In all honesty, if it's a piece of rolled-up cloth with a reflective finish, I'm really going to have a hard time paying over $20.

2. I'm aware of the roll-up one sold on Sewell for $30. It's my backup plan, but it seems a bit spendy (after shipping), but I heard it fits well.

3. I like the idea of having one that is easily put away and accessible. I use to have one of those spring loaded ones, and although it didn't cover the windshield well it did fold away to a compact shape and fit nicely between the seat and the center console, and I didn't have to worry about it getting caught under the seat or sliding to the back seat.

4. I'm not usually a fan of the accordion style, but this one looks pretty cool (if I could find it for cheap, which I've been unsuccessful so far):
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is2...-sunshade.html

Sorry for being picky. I know it's just a sunshade, but if I'm going to spend more than $15 for one (i.e. not something from WalMart) then I want something decent, and I'm betting someone out here has an awesome solution (if not a power sunshade for the front...hehe). Also, something that says "Lexus" like the item in #4 would be a huge plus.

Anyway, thanks for your help!

I have one like this:

http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...l.asp?id=90079

I am very happy with it, but I rarely park in the sun. My car hides in the shade almost all the time. If you saw the still original paint on my '93 Supra, you'd understand why.

I have one similar to the one you listed in #4 and I love it. They're made to fit specific vehicles so the coverage they offer is fantastic.

Does it have the Lexus logo? Do you remember where you got it at?

Thanks,
Tony

Yeah, I know about the FAQ (which is why I mentioned it in my original post) I was just trying to avoid a thread where a majority of the posts are over 2 years old and many of the links don't work anymore.

...but looks like I'm going to lose that battle as I can see it's been tacked on to an extremely old thread ;-)

Mine doesn't have the Lexus logo. I think I got it from Autogeek.net during one of their sales. Knowing what I know now I probably would've gotten it from someone else seeing as their shipping rates are usually higher than most.

I actually have a Lexus one that I bought but have never used it. It has the Lexus logo on it as well. If you guys are interested, I could take some pics...it just sits in my trunk all day. Maybe it's time to let it go. -b
