Glad you are ok though, there is a % of damage that needs to be done in order for it to be totalled like the other member stated... depends on your insurance company.
I have no problem admitting fault what so ever. Even if there was someone in the other car. I know right from wrong. Makes it easier for insurance purposes though. It just sucks I did something so dumb for a car I work SO hard for.

Anyone have any experience with Mercury?

I've heard some stuff about Mercury. None of it was good but that was from people who were hit by people insured by Mercury.

Doesn't look anywhere near bad enough to be totalled. Only basing my opinion on the few years that I worked for a body shop in Mpls, where that would be an average/common amount of damage that would be repaired. But you never know.

The important thing is that you're OK.

Glad to hear you're okay! I'm glad that the car's safety features clearly made a difference in the accident. Let us know how the doctor's visit goes. Oh and from one owner of a BWB IS to another...ouch, that hurts! By the way, I'm guessing that since the majority of the impact was on the passenger side that the airbags just had to deploy in this scenario for added safety. I'm not an expert though, just a guess.

It should not be any different. If and when they fix it, the car will be functional and safe.

The blue book value may go down and you may have less potential buyers looking at the car, but you should be able to return the car at the end of the lease with no penalties.

I'm realy sorry about your mishap. I hope it gets resolved to
your satisfaction.

You know in a way it infuriates me that Lexus has disabled the
phone display functions supposidly in the name of safety.
Had it not been for the fact that you had to physicaly search for your
phone in the car to be able to tell who was calling, this might
not have happened. Lexus should certainly be made aware of a
dangerous situation that they have created, in an attempt to
avoid one.

I do have to agree with that. Why don't they display the number? You would think my situation would occur often..and that it would be safer TO display the number than to not. I can think of many I've searched for my phone due to a number not being displayed (although obviously none ended like this).

That's a lotta damage.. the whole front end is gone, hood, bumper, fender. radiator support, etc, along with what im sure is going to be at least 10 suspension componets that took a whack as well..along with 8 airbags.. I remember airbags USED to cost about $1000 a piece...The only reason I see that the ins company might not declare this a total loss is that it's a brand new 35k car. Had it been at least 2 -3 yrs old, it'd be declared a loss for sure, but we'll see..
