It does somethimes but other times the AFS OFF light comes on. I think I just need to move the sensor up or down so the car thinks it is level? I am not totally sure though

I have sports and you can see it very clearly when the steering wheel is turned to left. I believe AFS will give 15 degree turn when making a left, or 5 degree turn when making a right.

The best way to test it is when you need to make some kind of a left "loop turn" at night. The loop turn is easily seen at the ramps of freeway intersactions. Or if you can find some wide open space in Taiwan, it will do the trick too.

On mine when it is dark, they have a startup sequence, They move up and down and then center. Try it against a wall or in your garage when you first start it.

Thanks alot guys, I will give it a try when I go back to Taiwan.

IS is getting popular here in Taiwan, price of a base model IS250 is 1.5m that is less than a BMW E90 318i, so lot of people are getting IS250 now.

but in this price range the most popular cars are Audi A4 or Saab.

you see more A4, Saab, MB C class in Taiwan.

I just noticed I have AFS when playing around with the satellite controls, trying to turn off the speed and tach controls (car is now broken in ).

Would probably never notice the AFS since I haven't driven the car at night yet.

But his head light was awesome, it is a hallogen light with AFS system, but I can actually tell that AFS is at work, unline my IS.

here is my question how do you check if AFS is working, is there a way to find out from the look of the headlight housing to see if my car have AFS or not.

I have HID, but I don't know if I have AFS or not.

Please advise.
check inside the car see if there is a button call "AFS on/off" my tech told me it should be at the right hand side of the steeling wheel and search all the way down, im not sure, becoz my car dont have HID. It could be on the left hand side, the 3 button that set tires, and speed limited.

If it is in USA...AFS is standard when u get HID, i think it will be same in Taiwan too

Another way to check the car have AFS or not is lower the suspension -.-"...becoz the new IS has a height detector...the AFS light will flash after you lower the car -.-

I just thought about it... Geeesh its probally because the lights need to be adjusted.

If you open your hood you should see that leveling metter, if the lil air bubble is not in the middle maybe thats why? Anyhow, you probl could just turn it off? And see if the light goes off.
