Glad every one here got things configured the way they wanted The only big thing that bugs me now is how I can't press the door handle button to unlock all doors ala Mecedes Benz. But I suppose it's a small price to pay for having the security of just the driver door opening for all other instances...one would think that if the driver was smart enough to press the button he would want the other doors open

Yes you can. You can even make the change yourself. RTFM.

You are telling the poster that laid out instructions for everyone else to RTFM, great way to trash a constuctive thread. I figured out why the original posters were having problems yet you assume I'm incapable of doing the obvious.

I'm going to read EVERY thread to answer the latest post. Your post said you can't unlock all the doors by touching the drivers handle. You can if you bothered to read the manual, it's clearly explained how to do it. Would you have understood RTM? Probably not, RTFM is just an expression. Get over it.

PS. Meybe it's just me, but I get VERY tired of people asking the same questions, or complaining about the same things, over, and over, and over. Search would avoid a lot of this grief for everyone.

It's been covered many times before.

Including this recent thread, SmartKey - Did you know....

This will be my last post to entertain you, if you are not going to read a thread regarding instructions on custom settings please do not bother reading/posting at all, AND at the very least carefully read the post you quoted in response to.

I said "The only big thing that bugs me now is how I can't press the door handle button to unlock all doors" this still holds true WITH REGARDS to the actual button. This thread started with people who wanted to customize how the doors unlocked when the key holder approached in the majority of cases in this thread we configured it so that only the Drivers side unlocked, I am completly aware this is a setting i choose to do and by doing it canceled the open all function.
What I was refering to was the actual action of manually pushing the button on the handle. I even went one step further and said 'ala Mercedes'. (Judging by your attitude you would tell me to go get a benz, well sorry I have one already). That example was merely putting in to context what I was referring to more specifically for any benz owners who were familiar with this feature or enthusiasts that could relate to it.

Kermee, I think i was typing my post when you made yours, thanks for the link but I believe my post above explains what I meant ^^

Not the actual 'smart key' approach settings which this thread originally set out to modify but the physical function of the button embedded in the door handle. Thanks for taking the time to link that thread though.

You know what. The search doesn’t work that well. Its hard to weed through so many threads. ESPECIALLY when 90% of them say RTFM or use the search. What help is that? Out of 100 threads that ask the same question. 80 of them say RTFM or "use the search, its been covered before" How will that help? First of all the searcher probably found the " 'Use the search' anwser thread BY using the search engine… If people don’t want to answer then skip the tread… don’t clutter the tread with useless answers.

The best way to do it is tell the poster to RTFM and also post an answer… otherwise skip it and go onto the next tread. Or tell the poster to use the search and SHOW them by linking it to a seached thread with the highlighted search word that you used to locate the tread that contains the answer. Its annoying enough to search and find so many threads on the same subject that’s been archived overtime but none of them contain the answer.

Its not a grief for everyone there are new members everyday who have not seen or even old member who have not seen new tricks. Just because couple people have seen it multiple times doesn’t mean everyone has seen it at least once.

Really? I was able to unlock all doors with the unlock button prior to the change of the 10 second rule… but after the change (since last night) I have not tired to use the interior unlock button. I'll have to test it out later today. That would suck if you gain one option the 10 second unlock all doors or unlock drivers side only but lose the locking/unlocking all doors with the central locking button above the window controls.

I mean the exterior EBMCS03, the 2 front door handles have little buttons that lock/unlock the car. It's not the 10 second setting overiding it, it's the change of:
Grasping Driver/Passenger door handle opens ALL DOORs
to->
Grasping Drivers door handle opens Driver Door
Grasping Passenger door handle opens ALL DOORs.

So don't worry you didn't loose functionality with your setup

Ah. My bad. Door handle. You got me on that one and I don't have the manual nearby. So what you want is:

1. Touch handle to open driver's side door only.
2. (Optional) Hit the handle-button to unlock the rest of the doors instead of hitting the Lock/Unlock switch on the inside door panel.

Correct?

Cheers,
Kermee

Yes sir that's exactly it! I have indeed gone thru the manual and searched here ,but I think the software flag that handles the touch handle is tied with the button. I'm no lexus tech though
As stated before it truly is a trivial and small price to pay to have the other option enabled all other times.

OH! I didnt even know that. I would like that function too! hahaha

Mine was set from the factory to touch the door handle to unlock drivers side only which made it inconvient when I had passengers. So I changed it to touch to open all doors. I didnt know you can have the option of hitting the little button to unlock the rest of the car.

So what enables that and what disabled that? Maybe I need to re-asses my priorities...

I think mr.BeboT is right. There may not be a way to do it and basically SOL.

I'm almost certain there's no way to set that behavior described above either via LPS or by the user.

Kermee
