Any chance our cars can play vcds? I heard the DVD changer can... but nothing about the CD changer.

 

I don't think there is much chance, but if you have a VCD and/or S-VCD lying around, why not give it a try and report back?

Grabed a VCD and gave it a try. Says it can't find files to play Guess it was worth a try.

has anyone tried using the ipod video to see if that would play in the navi w/o ML ?

 

No, ipod video won't play in the navi. Think about it, how can the video signal get transmitted to the navigation??

i think it can if you burn them like a dvd. i seem to recall playing a disc full of svcds but i'd have to go back to be sure.

 

WOW for that good of a price I'll forfit Video playing just to get the discount!

I'm not surprised at all. A few days after taking delivery of my car, I thought that the auto dimming feature on my driver's side rear view mirror stopped working so I called the salesman that sold me my car to complain about it and he was like "uhhh your car doesn't have that feature!" I was like "ummm...yes it does." I wanted to tell him to go to Lexus' website and read up on the car's features and know what he's talkin' about the next time he opens his mouth!

Anyway, as it turned out, the auto dimming feature was working (they tested it with a flashlight) but for some reason, it doesn't appear to be that dim when I'm looking at the mirror from the driver's side compared to the passenger side mirror.

 

youd think they would research these cars "to a T" before they go saying that stuff . . . i just dont get it . . . Then again almost every car I have bought I knew more about the actual car i was buying than they did. the cobra I have now . . . as soon as I saw it i knew it was lowered, had subframe connectors, and exhaust . . . oh wait the salesman said it was stock down to the filter though. JEES!

 

well how hard would it be to wire an external dvd player or ps2 to the navi?
