Default DVD Player

I tried loading a DVD into my car and there is nothing indicating on the menu options to play a DVD, I read through the manual and there are directions on how to play a DVD in our cars...is this an option that I don't have or is there something I'm missing. And if there is not a DVD player in my car is there any way to be able to install software or any way possible for that matter to do this? TIA.

Do you have the Mark Levinson stereo system. If not, you will not be able to play DVD's.

Only the Mark Levinson system will allow you to view DVD's on your Nav screen!

these are the facts, feel free to ignore the rumors or what you might have heard.

you must have mark levinson in order to play dvds on your stock system. does'nt go by if you have navigation or not.

if you have a cd player in your car, it will be impossible to play dvds on that cd player no matter what you do to the software. it is impossible to reflash software in a cd player to make it play dvds.

if you are unsure if you have a dvd or cd player in your car, take a look at the window sticker that came with your car, it should be clearly indicated.

hope this helps.

Would it be possible to swap out a ML system say if I were to find one some time in the future from a totaled ISx50?

^^^i'm not sure about it, i doubt it only because i think it would be very complicated. you may want to look into some aftermarket type setups.
