Default Recall

I don't know if this is a repost but did any of you guys got a seatbelt recall letter from LEXUS? I got one today and I called the dealer but they did not want me to bring my IS in yet cause they had to order the parts. They said it would take a week for the parts to come in.

yea they have to order parts for different cars
as the seatbelts are color-coded

schedule for an appointment a week from now
and remember to go in with less than 1/4 gas

My car was already in service getting the window fixed so I called them the other day and told them to fix the recall while they had it. They ordered the parts no earlier than Saturday and the car was finished Wednesday afternoon. Going to pick it up in the morning, I miss my car!!

Cool

I didn't get anything in the mail or any email notifications. Only from reading here. If I don't get anything I'll ask about it when I go in for 5K service with an empty gas tank

Yes, a repost, there have been a couple of threads about the recall, but I think you are the first person to mention that you actually received the notice in the mail. In the earlier threads we heard about it in the media, from our dealers, or from threads on CL.

I got my notice in the mail yesterday, too, a week after the dealer completed it.

As others have noted, coast in for your recall on fumes, as many dealers are filling the tank as compensation for the inconvenience. Not as nice as the iPod that they gave for the IS250AWD gas pedal recall, but still a nice perk with gas over $3.00/gallon.
