Default G-Spider chrome wheels

What have people been paying for the option of the G-Spider chrome wheels on the IS?
The stock chromes look great but the G-spiders add an extra flare to the car.
TIA

The G-Spiders are polished, not chromed. There are companies out there that will chrome rims for you, and they cost about $100-150 a wheel. Some people have gotten the stock 18"s chromed: check out the IS galleries.

^^^ When you say "Polished"...

You mean painted or finished in "Graphite Polished" color..
This finish was found on the 2001 IS300 5 Spoke Alloy Wheels.

The IS300 Standard wheel was painted Silver color, optional was the Graphite Polish Fnish. (+450)

Anyone who buys the G-Spider Wheels when ordering the car from the dealer is Crazy!!!
Not only do they charge you $2,000+ for the dealer installed option.. but,
THEY EVEN KEEP THE WHEELS THAT CAME ON THE CAR.
Whether it be the 17's or the 18's.
Usually if you have the 18's standard wheels, they just swap out the tires and still make out waaaaayyyy a head.

I would take the 18" wheels that come with the car and then order up a 2nd set from Sewell Lexus for approx $1,000.
Now thats a deal!!!

I would definitely would NOT Chrome this Awesome finish!!

Here is a close up of the Graphite Finish.. Notice the darkish gray silver.
Its because the wheel is actually painted almost black, during the intial process.
(I know Lexus doesn't advertise them as Graphite Polished Finish, but that's what they are...

Enjoy!

I may be using the wrong name for the wheel in mind.
Here is a pic of the wheel I am interested in.
These belong to Fire Chief's red IS350.
Any info on this wheel would be most appreciated.

Nope!! You got it right!!

Those are Chromed G-Spider Wheels.. These do not come Chrome from the factory.

The dealer may offer this as an option if they have enough core sets to begin the chrome and swap process..

I may just go with the stock wheels chromed but those sure do look nice.
I will PM Fire Chief to find out where he got his.

By the way, I am patiently waiting for a red IS350 with Nav, ML, PA, Luxury package.
I started to get the 250 but after driving the 350 there was no more debating.

Are there different G Spider wheels?

I found a set on eBay and didn't know if they would fit an IS350. The owner says they're for a GS and I don't know about bolt patterns on the GS and IS350.

Can someone assist me here?

Wait for that 350. It's just the best deal to get an extra 100 hp for $5k. And those are the same packages that I got on my car.

Also, you asked how much the G-Spiders are: they're about $1k on-line. Just look hard enough...

Yes there are different sizes... However, bolt patterns are the same!!
The Finishes are all the same too! (Unless Chromed)

For the GS 300/430 - The G-Spiders are offered in 18x8 only, with the same size tires all around.
Since the GS does not have a factory staggered set up.

For the IS 250/350 - The G-Spiders are to be used in a staggered setup just like the standard 18's. 18x8 up front and 18x8.5 in the rears... Of course the same staggered tires will be used in this set up and will fit perfectly..

Well that's a good thing!!

Maybe they caught on...
But some of the new owners that took delivery with G-spiders on there car already, paid for the extra option and did NOT get a credit and/or did not get to keep there Standard Wheels...

wow I would be pretty mad about that. I would definately not do it (unless you have THAT much money to blow) if I didnt get a credit or get to keep the wheels. I mean you could spend that extra money on a NICE set of volks or something.

Also, by looking at the pictures I think I actually like the stock Gspiders better than the chrome ones. I guess maybe Im getting used to the polished look, but it just seems like it looks like chrome is just caked on there . . . too thick looking for me. (if that made any sense at all haha)
