The small incompatibility is that the Japanese key fob has 3 buttons, ie, door unlock, door lock and trunk open. Besides the Japanese trunk open button is situated somewhere between our trunk open and the panic buttons. You just have to get used to putting your finger a bit off from where the mark for the trunk open in order to access either the trunk open or the panic buttons.

Note the zipper can come in different colors. The black one comes with a black zipper whereare the tan has a silver zipper.

The inside of the key case is made of very soft material which appears to be suede. See the pictures.

Hope it helps...
Wow...thanks! So where did you purchase the cases? They look sharp...very classy. By the way, how much were they?

For single purchase of JDM Lexus parts on one of our CL vendors' web site, the price is about the same +/- different taxes. But if the demand is great for this item which forms a group buy, possibly they could give some discount.

acsan,

I got them with the help of a new friend in Japan but I have to pay the shipping cost. (1200 yens for two gloves via EMS) They are really expensive (7600yens/piece). I think at least half of the price is profit. It seems to me every JDM Lexus parts is over-priced.

Too bad that no group buy is formed yet and my order for the Taiwanese key glove fell through due to lack of supply.

Anyway, this is an item that is always utilized every time when you have the key. So it justifies my purchase.

Wow!! (7600yens/piece). that is really expensive for a key fob glove. Lexus stuff are wayyyyyyyy over price . I think it should be less than $10 for that small piece of leather.

Yeah, I really like those, but $70 is ridiculous. You can get a pair of shoes for that! I'm thinking ~$20 or less for a key glove, maybe $25 tops for something "real nice".

I wonder if there's any update on the original GB that Carson was trying to set up (the key glove with the extra-long pin). It's a much better priced option that I think most people would be content with.

I've been in contact with Lexus of Taiwan and there telling me they do not make these Key gloves, so evidently there not "factory" . Probably from another company not authorized to sell it with the logo, therefore I'm not able to supply these particular ones, sorry

There are so many factories in Japan and China and Taiwan, it's impossible to call "the factory. If it's any consolation, I emailed the people who had something to do with those key gloves and they disclaimed also. We have no way of verifying their authenticity, even if our Taiwan contact purchased them directly from Lexus of Taiwan (which he did). That being said, I have one, maybe two additional type 1 Lexus Key Gloves available, if anyone would like one, please send me a PM for [revised] reasonable pricing. Wanted to give this group first shot since we originally had a [unauthorised] GB before I go out to the larger audience (aka ebay). I'll be honest, I like mine but I also like the type 2 Lexus Key Pouch (pictured in this thread) so I would prefer to have a few of each instead of all type 1s so I'm getting rid of some of mine. With the simple mod I performed (pictured above), the type 1 key glove is still a very nice case.
