Default Special order wait time...

For those that have been waiting for special orders, I figured I'd post my wait time. I put my order in around Jan. 20th, it was accepted by the factory at the end of Jan.

The car is now on its way to MA, where it will arrive at the end of the month. I'll be going to pick it up the first week in May. So basically, 3 months on the nose.

Have they given you a VIN yet? Mine was ordered the 3rd week of January and I'm told early May but no VIN yet.

I ordered mine the same time as you on January 24th and my vehicle arrived at the LA port on March 31st and should be here within the next week. I just negotiated my deal yesterday.

Basically, it looks like my total wait time is going to be about 3 months.

Call your dealer. They should definitely be able to tell you one of two things (if they really put in the order for you):

1. That the car has been placed into production.

2. The VIN number.

Basically, they don't know either until the car is on the boat. Up until that point, if they tell you anything, then they're either lying or just telling you whatever you want to hear.

That is true but my dealer already knew my VIN and that the car was accepted into production two months after I placed the order. If Casey ordered on Feb 6th then it has been over 2 months and I am guessing they may know something by now because if ordered the beginning of Febraury then the car should have gone into March production and should be finished and on the boat sometime in early/mid April. From that point it take several weeks to get to USA from Japan and then another 2-4 weeks to get from port to your dealer (depending on where you are located).

~3-4 months

if he placed an order ont he 6th, it will get submitted on the 20th, then likely go into production 2 months after that (likely April). Rememebr everything revolves around the 20th.

Looks like you're the charter member. I am going to call tomorrow and see if there's any news. It's like Timbo said, one of the first painful pieces of information I learned on this forum is the submission dates are on the 20th. Kinda stupid that one person could order the 19th and another on the 21st resulting in a month's difference between arrival. I am just hoping they have stepped up production to finish the 06 orders since they will have to start converting production to the 07's soon.

Build out for 06 is in June.... on the 25th I believe from what I have... If the factory started before that you'll have an '06.
