The first maintenance is usually around 5,000 miles

Lexus actually offers a free 1000 mile check-up to see how you are doing with the car. The first oil-change and maintenance check at 5000 miles is free as well. Don't forget to get all your personalized settings handled during these visits also.

Are you sure? I called them about the 1000, and they never heard of it. Nothing in the manual or web site either. They do have a 30 day, when they'll change the LPS, but I don't think it's anything more than that.

TimboIS and linh811 are right.

There is no 1,000 mile anymore. It was phased out last year IIRC. But your dealership should definitely check on you after 30 days and if you want any LPS changed. That's just expected common courtesy.

Cheers,
Kermee

Did they really remove it?

When I purchased my RX350, the sales person said, come in at 1000 miles /1500 km's i think.. They'll do a rountine check and stuff.

Then the first oil change is also free.

Not on the 2IS, at least not on my car and not on my nav.

But the dash screen says "Service soon..." when you get close to 5,000 miles and it is definitely free....at all dealerships in all states for all 2IS cars. I'm going in for mine on Saturday.

At 1,000 miles? I'm thinking you programmed it this way maybe?

Yup at 1,000 miles. I don't know if I did programmed it. I was playing with the nav a few wks back so...could be without me knowing it. I will call the dealer and find out. :

I'm pretty sure the dealer programmed it for them. I picked up my car before they could mess with it

They put one of those stickers on my car. It says it's at 5,000 miles or 6 months from date of purchase.
