***Knocks on wood*** Ive had it about 2 months and so far so good.... not sure what the previous owner did although it appears it was taken care of, i had my local Lexus dealer check it when i had the fuel pressure sensor recall done and it checked out OK, all ive done maint. wise so far is change the oil and replace all the brake pads/fluid, all other fluids/belt/hoses look fine.... I think people on this forum are scared to drive their cars, ive had several Toyota/Lexus with 200-300k miles on them without major issues it just depends on how you drive/maintain them. I dont beat on my cars and i keep an eye on stuff and make sure it gets replaced if it needs it. Havent changed the tranny fluid, from my experience everyone ive known that replaced auto tranny fluid had issues afterwards.

It's physically impossible to change (any significant amount of) the tranny fluid on an automatic 2IS.

The US maint. manual is pretty clear on the fact it's a sealed system and never requires changing.

I have 2500 on it in 6 months.. I drive my Jeep instead cuz this car sucks so bad I NEVER want to drive it.. the fact that the dealer totally ruined the "lexus experience " for me after I bought it and they scratched it , dented it, took the door apart twice and buffed the paint to no end.. could be the BAD TASTE LEFT in my mouth. who wants to pay 50 gs and spend the first 2 weeks in the dealer getting re- repairs that they botched up. Im ready to trade it in already 6 months later...people that Buy lexus have never driven a BMW!

The last portion of your post is not true. You had a bad experience and that sucks...However i sold my 2007 335xi. And i absolutely love my IS. Just saying.

Got nearly 50K on mine, not really high mileage, but i've done 10k miles in 5 months already so it shudn't be too long :O

I'm just so happy that Longo Lexus took care of all the TSB's and recalls professionally and maybe more importantly...FREE cuz besides those i have no issues with the car.

Sounds like the dealership screwed up and your blaming it on the car manufacturer. Your problem is with the dealership, not with Lexus my friend!

I've driven a BMW before, i test drove a couple before i bought the Lexus. They are great cars no doubt. They drive really well and for the most part are sporty. But to me, you don't get as much with your money as you do from Lexus. Options are crazy expensive for most BMW's and you pay a lot for what seems like a little when it comes to extras. I like that Lexus gives you a good deal of options for your cash. Lexus customer service is also superior if you ask me, not just at the dealership - but if you call into corporate too.

2007 IS250, just passed 101K, only left me stranded once (dead battery). Was averaging 25K miles per year, now about 13-15K miles for 2011. This is the #1 reason I went with Lexus, reliability.

I know a girl with a BMW 328 with the same mileage as me and she just went through 3 repairs for $1200+ each in the last 3 months. Each time the car was rendered inoperable and she needed a tow. She's desperately trying to get out of it now. She says if she gets a BMW again it'll be a lease

Sorry your dealer experience sucked, but what was the problem with the car? lol at your last statement. I've owned a couple BMW's, loved my Acuras and Lexus cars way more due to the reliability.

Got about 63K on mine. Nothing major so far. Oil changes at about 5-5.5K intervals. Brakes have been replaced. Is there something I am missing? I was gonna have the dealer replace my spark plugs during the last oil change but my service advisor said its not due till 120k.
