Default Vibrating rear view mirror?

Anyone else notice a problem with theirs? The ML isn't even up to 10 and I notice the vibrations, of course going over bumps I notice it too. I looked and the mirror appears to be solidly bolted down?

it's common in mirrors anchored to the windshield--has nothing to do ML. My RX330 (non-ML), IS350 (ML) and G35C all do the same thing. It's just "harmonizing" with the bass frequency.

Turn your bass down.

I have the standard audio system and my mirror vibrates when I have the bass at 0 or higher. It is normal for the way this system was tuned. Personally I think the Pioneer/Harman engineers put too much bass boost into the system. The bass frequency is boosted around 100 Hz and sometimes drowns out the lower bass harmonics depending on the music played. But the majority of the average buyer likes it, so Lexus left the bass boost in.

My saleman turned the bass to +5 on my test drive and said it sounded great. I frowned to turned it back down to -1. More bass does not equal better sound.

Actually based on .net, I'm noticing a lot of people who HAVE navigation and rain sensing windshield wipers are noticing the problem more than those who don't have those options, I think because the cluster around the mirror with those options has a different bolt pattern?

I don't have ML nor do I have rain sensors, but my rear view mirror rattles too. Usually I just adjust it and the rattling stops.

Also happens in my ES300, and both of the GS's

Yeah. I'll move it up and down slightly and it'll go away. It comes back later though

It needs a tighter fit. Use a rubber band or chewing gum...

That's Lexus Klassiness...

Cranked my non-ML IS350 up to 45 and the mirror still wasn't shaking. I have the bass set flat (0).

(I'd love to have bass strong enough to shake the mirror without getting muddy. )

It's not bad enough shake to make it unusable but you won't be able to tell if that's a cop car trying to pace you.
