Question about incoming calls using bluetooth
I've noticed when receiving a call using bluetooth, the name or number doesn't always show up on the screen. Sometimes only the number shows up even though I have the number saved with a name, or nothing will come up at all. Was woundering if any one else has noticed or experienced this b4. Hope its normal.
Thanks!
Thanks!
My treo650 works pretty well and reliably. The only thing my IS does is when the car is in motion, the car will *not* display the number, only the name of the person calling if it is in the car phonebook. It's a very annoying parental control "feature", but can be disabled by the nav hack. Other than that I have no problems.

...yes it does in fact work very well with the NAV hack....that is one of the main reasons why i wanted that hack so bad!
I've asked this before, but nobody has answered. (Perhaps nobody knows)
Are all these obnoxious feature disabling nannies present in the Japanese and European models? Or are we Americans alone being punished for our overly litigious society?

I have no direct information about the IS in particular, but my suspicion would be only the US gets this garbage.
It's the same in other cars with other features, including a lack of launch control on various cars that come with it in Europe, all the way down to the stupid BONG we get whenever we open the door with the key still in the ignition. Then there's the DSG transmission in the new VW/Audi's, which is semi-neutered for the US market... it upshifts and downshifts on its own even when in manual mode if it decides you're an idiot. The list goes on and on....
... anybody know anyone hiring UNIX engineers in Europe? Preferrably Ireland or Italy?

Yea that really suks, it takes like a second to see whos calling you, its better than reaching in your pockets and looking for your cell phone when your with your girl, not to answer a call that shouldnt be answered lol, and plus there are still enough things on the NAV to distract you even with the Nanni, Like the POI or what ever they are called, you could put up to six different catogorys on there.
BTW I think the NAVI could get kind of confusing since it doesnt have the same common sense my CLK navi had. It guided me to philly, then I start entering a restaurant name in and it finds one like 6 hrs away in another city, which is stupid cause it should know that Im in philly and there are closer ones in philly. I had to re-enter the city I was in for it to get it. Also when driving in the city if you take a wrong turn for some reason the navi still acts like your on the street that you were suppose to turn on, very confusing and annoying. Just my opinion.
