Default Bluetooth Question

So I just picked up my White IS 250 AWD w/ Nav today from the dealership. When they were about to set up the bluetooth he asked what kind of phone I had. I have a Palm Treo 650, and he said that he couldn't do it and that I would have to go down the street to this other place that would be able to do it for me. Oh by the way I have Verizon. Has anyone else had this problem? Any Suggestions...

you might want to do a quick search using the keywords verizon treo 650 bluetooth, you'll get lots of results.

I figured it out, now I need to know if there is a way to have the name show up on the screen when I receive a call.

I think if the vehicle is moving, caller ID is not available.

kensteele is correct. Caller ID does not display on the NAV screen when the vehicle is moving.

Lexus actually wants you to FUMBLE for your Bluetooth phone to see who's calling while you're driving instead of a quick glance at the NAV screen to see who's calling. (My #1 pet-peeve with my IS).

Cheers,
Kermee

Has anyone got the caller ID working with their bluetooth phone? Every aspect of the phone with the IS works great except for that. Does Lexus know their are issues with this?

a little off topic but have you experienced any problems with your treo and verizon? Im looking at picking up the 700w and switching to verizon soon.

thanks

As mentioned earlier, Caller ID only displays to the screen when the car is NOT moving. (Read: Full Stop). Doesn't matter if the number is in the Lexus phonebook or not. If the car is moving, it will not display the Caller ID.

Ah. Wow. That's strange. I'll borrow my friend's 700w sometime and pair and see what happens. I haven't had any CID issues with the Tero 650 after the firmware update but of course that's an entirely different beast from the 700w's.

Cheers,
Kermee
