So I'm parking today coming back from lunch- I turn the car off and intend on closing the sunroof next. My coworker had already opened his door so no dice. I press the start button (my foot still on the brake) and hit the sunroof button immediately after. The car doesnt start but continuously turns over as the sunroof closes. Right when the sunroof closed all the way, it stopped turning over- but never started. My foot was on the brake the entire time and my coworker and I just looked at each other like 'wtf just happened?'
I'm sure this hasn't happened to anyone but figured I'd let everyone know...
Of course the first thing I did was let off the brake, push it back in and start the car, which happened flawlessly like every other time I start it. Strange......
And also- this happens occasionally- I'll exit the car and it will be beeping at me for some reason...The keys are in my pocket and the lights are set to 'auto'...The beeping stops when I lock the doors from the outside switch. Anyone else experience this?
It's not a bug it's a feature Just kidding, our cars are so computerised that it doesn't surprise me the least. If it started OK and continues to start, I wouldn't worry.

Yes, I've had the unexplained beeping happen a few times. If I recall correctly, it has only occured after shutting off the car at night (i.e., headlights on)
FYI, but probably not what you are talking about - the car will beep until you close the door if you open the door to exit the vehicle, prior to turning the car off....
Really? was it just the engine not starting or a similar series of events- with the sunroof and all that?
As far as the beeping problem- Its definitely when I open the door very quickly after shutting off the car- can't remember exactly if the door opens before the car shuts off but I imagine it has to do with the delay of the button push...if you are using both hands the delay could be long enough to trigger the beep....now why they didnt program the beep to stop if the car shuts off is beyond me
Anyone test opening the door while the car runs, then waiting a good amount of time and shutting off the car?
PS not going to exhibit my nerdiness by contributing to the bios joke

nope I wasnt doing anything, just step on the brake and press the start button, and it just kept cranking. After a few seconds I pressed the button again to stop it and then I waited a couple of seconds and it started normal again. Never happened again tho.
