Default Remote Starter for IS350

Who has installed a remote starter on their IS350? I don't believe that there is a dealer option for this, so does this mean that one would have to carry around another keychain remote for the starter feature? What does the new starter do to security and other features?

I'm hoping that the JDM parts for the remote starter will work on the IS over here. It's absolutely necessary up here.

It kind of seems like for a "luxury" car, that this should be an option you can select.

Yeah but the only manufacturer I can think of off the top of my head that offers that from the factory is Chevy, on the Malibu, and Chevy isn't anywhere near a luxury car.

There's a system out there, we're just waiting to hear back to make sure that the system will work with the US version IS's and GS's.

Does the system you are investigating require that a spare key be hidden in the car?

Was speaking with someone looking to add remote start to his late model Benz, he was told by a car stereo installer that with keyless go, they can't bypass the immobilizer system, hence the spare needs to be kept in the car (hidden) to make it work.

Not sure whether this is true, nor whether it applies to the IS, but I thought I'd throw it out there...

I work for Toyota Logistics, We install all options on Camry, Avalon and Solara. The current Avalon has a remote starter option and the next gen Camry will have one also. With or without Smartkey, I would just give Lexus a little bit and they will probably have a kit for the IS soon.

my parents have the 05 STS4 and it has the factory remote starter and it's awesome in hot summer days. You can start the car with weather option and it starts the ac and iirc, it also turns the seat cooler on.
Any word on the remote starter with the IS?

my brother installed it on his IS300, and it messed it up bad, so he took a 800 buck loss to take it off...i would never it to my IS350 but this was an intresting thing i found on lexus Parts...http://lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?...22&ModelID=151

do you think they are coming out with an OEM remote start?

as for the remote, I dont think it can be done w/o an OEM part becaue remote starts usually require a key...
