Default Sticker Shock.....

OK, I will probably get jumped on for having this opinion, but I DID have sticker shock when I saw the price of the new IS350. Not on the base model of $36,000.....I actually was pleasantly surprised by that number, but the Nav package is ridiculous! It makes the car $43,000!! And that doesn't include the ML system that I would like. I was really hoping that I could get this car for under or around $40k. I bought my 2001 Audi A6 2.7T (with upgrades like the Bose system) for $42k and it is in the GS's class! Anybody agree?

I think you mean the Sport Package with other options (which includes nav) is $43K. There is no Nav package in VA. So you're getting a pretty well equipped vehicle for that price. If that's a shock, then move on.

You've highlighted an issue that's been well discussed on this forum; that is that the well-equipped IS350 is in the GS price range. I agree with you. As a matter of fact, I read on the GS forum yesterday that someone was able to purchase an `06 GS430 for $46K. I think Lexus' plans for the new IS series is that the IS250, priced between $32K and $38K (when prices normalize), will be their mass-market car.
