Just wanted to get some idea, how are the insurance companies rating the IS, specially in NJ. Are they charging higher for the Red?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You'd probably get faster and more accurate information form ... you guessed it ... AN INSURANCE COMPANY. Originally Posted by NjDude

Pole Position
I couldn't get an insurance quote on neither of the IS's because they were "too new". Without the VIN on hand, the insurance company gave me a guesstimate of $599/six months as the "highest" possible premium for the IS 250. I later obtained a VIN off an IS 250, but still couldn't get a firm quote because "the VIN is not in our (insurance) system yet."... and the same max quote of $599 was given to me. The full-coverage quote was based on clean driving records, and multiple-car discounts.

I was paying $328 for six months for my IS300 (2001) and now I'm paying $331.00 for six months for my 2006 IS350.
Depending on your driving record, age, multiple vehicle discount, home owners discount and deductible, your rates will vary, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out my rate only increased by $3.00 for six months.

How old are you guys? I want to find out as well. My insurance is pretty light with my ES (considering my age) because I've had a clean record since I was 16.
I have a 2003 Grand Cherokee V8 4x2 in Socal. I think i pay @$1100 per year but its gonna go up close to $400 per year on an is350. I have a clean driving record and i'm 31yrs old. They quoted me for the is300 as they didnt have the new numbers so i added a little for the 350. i was surprised that it would go up that much, definitely must consider it a sportscar. i wouldnt think the change would be that dramatic compared to a v8 SUV. the quote for the gs300 had it going up @ $175 per year. definitely something to think about.

That what you get for 17 DUIs! LOL, that has to be wrong, either that or you have an interesting driving record. I though L.A. was expensive!Originally Posted by BaLLzZz

I was quoted from Nationwide 2324 for 6 mo with 500 deductible...
But I'm 22 and have had 3 minor speeding violations in the past 5 years. If you are still in school you can try to get a good student discount, you need above a 3.0 gpa. I've tried other companies but 2000 is the cheapest i could find. I looked up other types of cars, and the GS, ES, RX were all atleast 500 cheaper for 6 mo.

Sounds like you need to get a garage and go take a Defensive Driving Course online to get a discount on your insurance. Here's a link.Originally Posted by BaLLzZz

switching from my 2004 rx to my 2006 is my insurance premium went up 18$ A year which does not make sense because my RX was 12,000 more than the 36,000 IS250
