Default What's missing?

There's gotta be something that Lexus left off of this car. I mean typical luxury car options, such as heated auto-dim reverse-tilt mirrors (haha), memory seats..? I don't know, it seems like there's really something missing because it seems almost too "perfect"

The car is heavy enough as it is with the standard equipments & options, this is suppose to be a sports sedan, not a full-blown luxury car . . .

The car definately has a lot of options for the price. Still, there are a lot of things they left off. I'm not sure if it has a reverse camera. What about rear entertainment systems? That is starting to get popular even in sedans. No manual tranny in the IS350. No SMG transmission. No LSD. No DVD player. Sure, those are all luxury items, but if one thinks hard enough we can find a lot of desireable options that wont be available, just as those items are not available on many other cars. As good as the car is, there is no perfect car. Every car is a compromise. The IS just like every other car out there is far from perfect.

the Navi, ML option will get you that DVD player, they said they would offer a 6 DVD changer for the ML system. Also the back up camera will probably be optional and as this is an entry small sedan a rear entertainment system wouldn't really offered, sure larger sedans offer it, but they are geared towards a more luxury crowd. They probably don't think the system would seal or be taken as an option by many. The LSD, however, would be nice as well as a MT. I think this car has enough options and features though, I really think lexus did a great job with this one. I'm sure more options will be added later on.

Of course I'd like a 6MT or at least a SMG transmission offered, but the OP was talking about "typical luxury car options ".

Electrically powered rear sunshade which retracts in reverse? Check.

Personal massager? Errr....

There will be a reverse camera that comes with the navigation system.

On the manual printed japanese (pg 17) there are illustrations on the lights and how ther perform. I think they are not directional but provide a wider lighting view.

When parking the IS (going in reverse) the rear view camera (if equipped) comes on to show you what is behind you. Also the side view mirrors adjust downward so you can see the curb or the lines to park between.

also, it doesnt have only AFS, it has bi-xenons, isnt that first for Toyota? DVD entertainment system could be available for the backseat but at the same time it is relativly small car, you dont get driven in it, you drive it.

It has more options than any other car in its class...
