I hope so too. How is that an industry standard , when the competitor they are aiming at, the BMW 3 series offer manual with with a clutch for all models.

Well if the IS350 does come with an MT, that would mean that the same drivetrain could be transplanted into the GS350. Of course chances of Lexus doing that are about nill. :

Good point. Why do car companies do this? BMW let's you get manuals on any 3, 5 or 6 series- regardless of motor. They even let you get manual on the X3 SUV, both motors.

I think the answer is

Lexus = luxury

Luxury = Auto gearbox.

I have F1 shift so best of both worlds + the iron strength and smoothness of an Auto box.

. . .
Not this IS model. Lexus already have the ES in the entry level class for luxury. They need a true sports sedan/coupe to widen their model range & further increase their competitiveness/image.

For one thing, the LF-A uses F1 paddle shift.

Starts March 5. I have a feeling some of the info and even a few pictures will leak out before then.

Actually the press days are March 1-2 so the info should be out by the end of Feb. March 5 is when I plan to attend.

Yeah, you're right. But I probably don't have a chance to get into the Auto Show these two days since I havent' got a press ticket....

Anyway, I'll be there no matter what will come! Hopefully some pix get through before March....
