Hello everyone, is there any links or does anyone know how to open a hood latch on my 2012 IS250. I think the lock is frozen I tried pulling on the wire from the grill and nothing. I tried to pull the wire as well from inside and nothing. The wire just will not do anything to release the lock. Any advice or help is appreciated. I did order a new lock from Lexus for when I get it opened I can just replace it.

 

Try getting another person to try to open the hood while you fidget with the release latch in the cabin. That’s what worked for me, turns out the spring in my hood latch just exploded or whatever, it wasn’t even there. I just had to replace the latch in my case.

 

Thank you I did that the first time it opened, but then I thought it would work normally and closed it thinking problem was fixed..but nope.
