Default Suspension Issues

I have been having some problems with my 07 IS250 for a bit now. every time i hit a pot hole it seemed like the biggest pot hole ever and a nice big bang! The strut was leaking so i changed it out.

For a week or so i didn't notice anything... but the same thing kept happening. But only when the brakes are on now. if i go over a big pump in the road the strut seems like its doing its job but if i hit a bump in the road or a pot hole (even a little one) it feels like my car is hitting to the frame.

I will admit i'm not great at diagnosing suspension issues, so i'm just hoping maybe someone could point me in the right direction as to what the issue could be.

It happens only when the brakes are on and it doesn't matter much how big the bump or pot hole is. even little ones feel like they are the end of the world when i hit them.

any ideas?

We need more details on how the suspension got put back together. Did you swap original spring, bump stop, upper mount onto the new shocks, or did you buy already assembled shock and spring combo from your local parts store?

Only swapped the strut. No other stuff was changed as it all looked ok at the time. The previous strut was leaking.

Noise is only occurring only when brakes are applied, perhaps loose caliper, loose wheel stud or defective ball joint?
