I did my door panels a couple of months ago. They turned out really well. I didn't remove the rubber from the door panels. I used a plastic tuck tool thingy to wedge it under the damaged rubber. The fake Alcantara I got off Amazon has pre applied adhesive. I'm not sure how well that'll hold up in the heat but I'll find out.
I'm going to attempt to cover the dash when I get home from vacation in a few months.
There are actually two colors of the new dashboard, black and "grey". Grey is very dark, almost black, but noticeably different than black one, so I recon you have it.
I ordered 55400-53909-C0 the normal black, not the gray-brown color found on some 2011+ models.
Here you can see the difference 2021 dash and 2007 door cards. All original interior trim is "darker" black compared to new dash.

Aha ok, good to know. It makes sense, if they changed the material. Btw, can you please compare your new dash to the used panels from later year models? I'm curious is it actually the same, or 55400-53909-C0 is even different from those...

It seems they did change the material.
Here is another 2025 year 55400-53909-C0 dash and old interior:
So is the 55400-53909-C0 then the exact same color as the door panels from later year models? Hard to say from the pics, but they do seem very similar. Basically I'm trying to figure out if the 55400-53909-C0 is the exact same dash that was in the later year models, or it was just produced as a replacement part.
I have a 2007 IS350, and I love it. I got it in 2014, I took it in for he dash recall, the dealership told me that it wasn’t exhibiting the issue enough, I had other things to focus on, and now several years later the dash has become sticky and it’s outside the 10 year window to get Lexus to replace it.
I’m considering getting an Alcantara wrap put on the dash by going to a car upholstery shop. Does anyone know what to expect that would run? Has anyone done it? It’s tough to understand where the passenger side airbag deploys from, would the wrap interfere with that?
I searched for threads on this but didn’t see much, maybe I missed it, but it seems like something someone would’ve done already.
thanks in advance
Great question. I have a 2011 that has the same issue, I am following your post. Hope someone can weigh in on this. I currently have a suede cover that works pretty good bu would like to see if there is another option.
The dash is as it was made yesterday after all these years.Never had an issue when I left it on the sun although I have the car sitting in the garage most of the time.
Sorry for the late response this is mine made 5 years back. The problem is that the door panels have the same issue as the dashboard and these are the expensive ones so I’ve done everything wrapped in leather and I really love it and looks like new
I have been thinking about doing the same on the near future, but with different colours and stitch... now your car looks way better. I like the 2is so much, but the OEM interior is too boring. The leather job you did is savage... Love it
Lexus in the usa is selling our dash in usa for 250, i just bought and installed it myself... just replace it
I’m just now seeing your post and I’ll look into it and see about getting the dash. Even if it works out though I still have the same problem on all 4 doors, so the dash might be fixed but the doors are still melting. My mechanics recommended a guy who can work on dashboards I may see what he has to say
