Electrical Problems - Mainly Audio and Multi-information Display
Hey guys!
I recently just purchased myself a 2006 is250 as my first car. It drives nicely, but I’ve ran into a couple of electrical problems which have hindered my joy with the car.
Firstly, I have the OEM touchscreen head unit but when I try put on a radio station nothing pick ups. I suspect the audio isn’t working properly as the volume dials work but no music comes out. Additionally, I bought a Bluetooth transmitter which I connected my phone to, but no sound came out as well. I suspect a blown fuse which I’ll check soon, or the common dead amp. I have been told that the OEM head unit is faulty but I’ve already purchased an aftermarket head unit, do you guys reckon that’ll fix my audio problem? According to the guy who checked my car it should fix the audio problem. But asking just in case, is there an issue that’s causing this that I haven’t mentioned?
ANOTHER major issue I’ve had is that the Multi-Information Display in the Guage Cluster is not turning on. Whenever I start the car the little display is just off, I can see little signs of illumination but the normal messages don’t pop up. I also try press the DISP button on the steering wheel but to no avail. I’m wondering what is the issue for this as I can’t find anything online on this topic.
Much help would be appreciated as I don’t know what to do as a first car owner.
Many thanks in advance!!!

I'd bet the vents in the trunk rotted away and the moisture killed the amp as the amp is right where the passenger vent is. Remove the passenger black tray in the trunk, it either just pulls out or there may be a few screws holding it in, and you'll be able to access the amplifier. If this ends up being your problem, you'll absolutely want to get those vents replaced or it'll happen again.

Ohhh okay, I'll check my amp when I have the time and the vent as well. What do I have to keep my eye on for the amp to see any water damage (sorry im quite new)
Also any idea about the Multi-Information Display problem?
