Android head unit issue with amp and backup camera
Hello, so I managed to install this android headunit on my 05 IS250, it has oem ML sound system and backup camera
the issue I have is my subwoofer doesn't play at all and the sound quality feels worse, I feel like it doesn't go through the amplifier, just straight from radio to speakers.
I was provided with wiring kit that is exactly like this one
The ones I marked with red are connected to my oem cd changer which is under the unit and the car's connectors are connected to the other side of these,
For green ones I connected them together (2 of them) and it works ok
For yellow rca I connected them together but I don't have any response when I put my car in reverse? OBD port is connected too but it's like I have no backup camera at all (I really want to use the OEM one I have on my car).
I'm dumb when it comes to this and I'd be happy to learn if I did something wrong and why it has to be done different way. Maybe I'm missing something and they didn't provide the right wiring? I have updated factory settings in my car, chose Lexus IS with high profile or something like this, I'm really frustrated about this because I just can't find the solution myself and seller seems to be just as dumb
First, did you ask the vendor whether this Android stereo works with your ML system?
I have a similar one installed. My car has no OEM navigation or ML system. I remember there were two plugs from the Android stereo that looked the same, but one is for HI model (cars with OEM navigation) and one is for LO model like mine. So make sure only one of them is used. There are a few plugs left from the Android harness that I didn't use. You can use Google translate on the phone to do a live translate of the chinese characters on the plugs to see what they say.
One mistake I made at the beginning was I plugged one of the car connectors into one of the Android stereo harness while it should go into the OEM CD player. So make sure anything that can plug into the CD player is plugged into it instead of the Android harness.
For the reverse camera, I had to use the rear reverse lights to power the camera. With the OBD2 connection plugged in, it worked for me this way.
