Does anyone have intel on why a lexus Is 250 C fuel pump would leak gas around the fuel pump gasket in the tank when the gasket is new and all mounting bolts are tight? Is there a tightening sequence for the ring bolts? I have already done the cross hatch and just around the ring, thx

When you installed everything back, did you press down the fuel pump module while securing the 8 screw ring?
That's the only thing I can thick of. If you didn't its probably shifted some. The possibly cutting the gasket.
I'd try to reseat it again though check the gasket for tears.
Yes. I did. I have removed and reset a couple of times now. I even made sure the gasket was stuck to the pump so it would not shift. Tried 3 different pumps all with the same result. Gasket was brand new from lexus even. It is a lousy gasket design Imo.It is puzzling to me. The only other thing I can think is that the tank flange has been compromised somehow. It will be a cool minute before I pull the trigger on a new tank , they are rather $$$$$$ If you think of anything else lmk. thank you for responding.

Have you inspected the hoses they’re secure with the yellow clips? Make sure not cracked or broken ends. Yeah it does sound wierd it would be leaking. I've done filter changes on a GS400, IS250, and Now recently my 2013 GS350. It has just a snap ring, and no bolts.
I had to make sure O-ring gasket was not moving while trying to put the ring back on.
