Hi all,

I recently bought a 2003 Lexus IS300 and the key holder is breaking. It's just about ready to crack all the way open so none of the buttons work. I'm wondering how I can replace the holder and get the remote buttons working with the car.

Any help is appreicated!

If you are referring to the plastic remote FOB. It is common issue with those keys to break right where the shank is.
They sell replacement plastic ones that allows you to transfer all the parts for like $7. Not sure how good or long it will last.

In the past, I actually replaced the whole key shank and got it recut ($50 at dealer). But this solution looks cheaper and easier.

Yes, I am referring to the plastic casing breaking right at the base of the key. I have to squeeze the casing together when I put the key in the ignition to start the car or else it'll just break apart.

Thank you for the link!

Here's a lifetime product for those looking to fix it once and forget it. Re-uses all key styles and remotes of this style. Reinforced with grade 5 titanium and made by a fellow Lexus enthusiast.
