Default Is430?

Does anyone have any concrete informtion about the rumor of an IS430? Supposed to be around 350 HP. If this is true, the IS will finally be a contender in the high performance luxury sedan market.

Any info as to release date, HP, etc is much appreciated.

There have been so many rumors on this car I can't even remember how many times this has come up. TTE was the first, I believe, to build this prototype. They have 2 of them and one is supercharged but from what I have read, that car has never run. Rod Millen is the latest company to build a IS430. I have a friend that works there and they are building it. This car will NEVER be a production car. Lexus needs this car and we all want it. So don't get your hopes up for it to become a reality. If anything is to become a reality, the next IS300 will be a IS330 with a V6....

Thanks NDCENT1.

It's too bad the IS will not have a limited edition high performance version with the 8 cyclinder engine. It would be a great car. Brought my RX330 in today and my sales guy (great guy BTW) said no way the IS430 will be a production car.

Thanks again for the info.

The car itself is not finished. I do have a friend that works there and they are currently working on the motor right now. From what he has told me, they are taking the motor all the way down to the block and building it from scratch. As I get information from him, I will post it. I imagine that it will be ready for the SEMA show coming up in November.

Wow sounds like it might be pretty fast, how much hp will it have?

I wonder how hard it would be to put that V8 in an IS300

From what I have heard the hood requires 3/4 inch more clearence. There are probably alot of other things that need to be addressed but thats from what I have heard. He did not give me any numbers on HP or anything else but next time I talk to him, I will try to get as much info as I can. Just keep in mind that this car is a prototype. Thats all it is. Nothing else..... If they ever built it, I would not be able to own one... I would have died from the massive heart attack that Lexus green-lighted it to be built...

yeah i wonder what kind of hp numbers would be on that car too. so the v8 can drop in the IS that easy huh? that's interesting. taking the whole motor apart, i guess that's like changing all the heads, cams, valves, etc? umm.... man, i can't wait!
