have a 2001 lexus 430 ls,,150,000k car drives and shifts fine D and R all gears, no slipping, *** some times, "but not all the time" it will not engage in R, it will go forward and shift/drive great (does it hot or cold) trans; clean oil, smell good, this does not happen all the time, outside temp hot/colder does not matter, put in sea-foam no help, still does it, code PO770 comes up,, trans shop could not find anything went into R just fine at shop?? help help...

3. With the code you will likely have a failing shift solenoid. open up the pan and disconnect the solenoids, with an ohmmeter see if the resistance changes.
