is200 shuts off while driving
I have a 1999 lexus is200 and while i`m driving the engine light appear then the engine dies. after a few minutes sometimes the car starts again the engine light dissapear by itself. I have change coils and spark plugs the fuel pump is ok also. On computer appears ignition fail but i can`t find what`s the problem. I apreciatte if anyone can help me. many toyota/lexus have this problem and i can`t find any solutions. I`m sorry for my bad english

you might need to replace your ignition unit as it becomes worn out, I've had it before on a customers car
it loses connection between the ignition switch and relay fuse box and cuts out.

This is in the wrong section it looks like, this is for the first gen is300's 2001-2005. You may have more luck if you post in the proper spot, maybe the mods will help move your thread over there. I wish I had some ideas for you on the actual problem you're having.
I think it would help to know which sensors can cause the car to shut off completely. I would check your battery cables and alternator because I know those things not working properly or having an intermittent connection can cause the issue like you're seeing. It doesn't explain why it would work after shutting the car off for a few minutes but you might just be getting into this lucky situation where it cools off and connects again. Hot electronics expand and contract as they cool so..... I know that's far fetched but I've had my car do some stupid intermittent stuff when the battery cables weren't in good condition.
