Default P0717 ??? Unusual check engine code???

Hi Folks: my 2003 IS300 engine died while driving down highway. After coasting over, it started and was able to make it to car repair shop. But shop says has unusual check engine code. And they don't know whats wrong. They are good shop, have used them for years. So I trust them. They have told me that my speedometer is working fine. Apparently that code is associated with that Transmission and reading the speedometer or something. My mechanic is stumped and is looking into it. What can this be????

Try posting here:

The correct forum for your vehicle. "Unusual check engine code" won't get you any help. Can you get the actual code?

Still no where enough info - AND, as indicated, the post is in the wrong forum.
