Default Any mods for more hp/tq?

Anyone run headers like the ppe ones or is there any other brands? Would like to do a full exhaust set up from headers back in stainless with no secondary cats or resonator.

Are there any ecu options? Didn't some l tuned cars have ecu and intake mods on the gs 430s?

Air intake wise I've seen the Tom's filter, fujita intake that I can't find available and some no name junk.

Just looking to add a bit more sound/grunt with some tasteful bolt ons. I'm not into the huge can 5zigen type exhaust etc. Just a clean factory look like you'd find on an amg Benz etc

It's good to see someone else who is looking for more power.

I don't have the PPE headers yet but plan to next year. I currently run a custom 2.25 inch Magnaflow X-Pipe with an Injen intake. It sounds great but you really need the headers to get decent power/torque gains.

As far as ECU's go I haven't seen anything yet. There isn't a whole lot of information on the subject. For intakes there is the Tom's filter, Injen intake, DC intake, and the Fujita intake. Supposedly the Fujita intake is the best but it's pretty expensive.

That sprint booster just tricks the car into thinking that you are flooring it. No actual hp gain.

An AMG direction might be polished heads with some trick valves. Also maybe different mapping for the valve sequencing and a better intake. After that the cat back and it should be worth maybe 20%

I would also be interested in someone who has pursued this direction to see what the dyno says....

i know that...currently own (&Built) 3 high HP boosted cars in my garage r'now.

Id describe the Sprint booster more like "Hp/TQ Realized" . .. if a person just wants what the factory promised, then its a good route to take. Most people dont need much after installing them.

Unlock what you have to see if u want more

I was on the fence about boosting one of my BMWs but had the chipsets modified and really dont need to anymore..

Yea the blitz throttle controller and Sprint booster look like fancy ways to trick the tps sensor so no real gains. I can do the same thing with my foot lol.

Would love to see some undercarriage shots from guys with headers and full exhaust set ups

theyll probably complain about the TQ loss LoL!! people really dont understand how to build a proper power range.

Youre not building any noticible power with bolt ons...its for looks and sound for the most part.

re-map the car along with killing that (lack of) throttle response and it'll seem like a new car.....and make use of the bolt ons.

or put on a fart can, oversized exhaust piping with a $20 intake tube and let ur butt dyno do the rest

Headers should be good for at least 20 hp. That would be noticeable.

I'm not trying to break any records just the usual mods for daily driver. I have an 8 sec gsxr 1000 in the garage if I need to put a smile on my face. 15-20hp would be a nice start in the right direction and any v8 lexus or not usually picks up good gains from a good header design and no restrictions along with some more growl

^^^that looks and sounds really cool, it does, but really how much more power would u be getting out of that $13 000?

They replace a lot of bearings and gaskets and bolts, new pistons and such, but I am very curious as to how much power you would get.

For that money you could probably supercharge the 3uz.

I'd just keep it simple and switch to the LS460 if I needed more hp.

Why not get a rocket from NASA. You'll have the fastest car on the planet until you actually start lifting off. Couldn't resist. Later!

Honestly, it would be nice to be able to bolt on 40 - 60 HP. On my 07 mustang, intake, tune, headers, and full cat-back was worth nearly 90 HP.

The LS430 and 400 have a very efficient intake design. Not much room for improvement but headers and maybe an Apexi with a custom tune I could see 30 - 40 HP is my guess. The PPE headers did dyno at a 20 HP gain.
