Default Traction control module

Flashing 'track off' light and engine light is on... code indicated that the traction control module needs to be replaced. We ordered the part but have had no success with finding info on how to replace it... any ideas??? The light's been flashing for about 3 weeks and the problem seems to be getting worse; sputtering and even stalls sometimes, idles high. Its a 2001 is300
