My check engine and traction control lights are on what do i do

Take it somewhere that will pull the code for you for free (Autozone, Checker, AAMCO, etc). They should give you a clue on what it might be. Could be anything as easy as your gascap loose, to something more involved.

As far as the traction control, I think you are mistaking it for the bulb-indicator light. This usually indicates that you have a brake light, running light, etc that is out. Have a friend help you find it. Tap the brakes, check your signals, check your plate bulbs, running lights, etc.
