My 2 post cat 02's are done I guess and was going to get the 02 simulator. Question is will it pass inspection? I live in new Hampshire and yhe car needs to b registered and inspected every year. I dont wanna buy the simulator of it fails inspection. Thanks for any help

 

Do you have the CEL on? If so, the O2 sim will help.

But as for emissions I'm not sure if you'll pass.

 

you will not pass inspection with o2 simulator, it is just simply used to trick your ecu into thinking your catalyst converters are fine

 

I underatand it makes the ecu think its fine because sim gives out the proper voltage so the ecu thinks the o2's are fine. But what I was wondering is since the ecu says its fine then you go to get your emissions inspection and they plug thier emmissions computer to the ecu shouldnt it still pass since the ecu says its good

 

So long as they don't see them visually - with a properly functioning O2 sim that includes a sim for the heater circuit, they will pass the OBD portion

 

I think token solutions has that sim that does the 02 and heater circuit

 

I am not sure about inspections in your state. Some will have a device that they actually put in your tail pipe to read the emissions as the car is running. If this is the case then you are hosed. If the inspection just consists of connecting a code reader to your ECU then you will be fine as the Sims will tell the ECU that the car is running efficiently from the O2 sensors.

I actually found it easier to go ahead and use Spark Plug Defoulers that were drilled out and then inserted into the O2 bunge to trick my ECU. I bought my car and the Cats were clogged on the header. Lexus wants $1,800 to replace them. That's right $1,800. F*#k that. I bought Megan headers and used the defoulers and viola, no more ECU code being thrown and the car runs great.

Check your emissions testing in your state before you do all of this as it may be a waste of a lot of time and money.

 

My state doesnt put the thing in the tail pipe so im good there. I would put headers but my state does check for cats. They are very strict on that.
