Default another AUX problem

went looking for solution to play iphone/mp3

this was the cheap solution I found
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-iPOD-i...2ed8df&vxp=mtr

super simple to connect.....uses factory connection at the back.
only problem is IT NEVER WANTS TO WORK!

after 2 hours pressing buttons, inserting Cd's, removing, holding CD buttons I could only get it to play twice

anyone exprience the same?
anyone know the button combo to get it to play everytime?

I think your problem is that it is cheap and good chance it just doesn't work well with your car...

Grom Audio - search for their kits, they work perfectly every time...

yeah....looks like a ok option but it uses regular 3.5mm connection.

I might as well use a tape deck player if Im going to do that and save 70 bucks.

seems like if the cheap one can make a iphone connection, a more expensive reputable company could make that connection also.

additionally....I dont understand the point of blue tooth.

using my tapedeck connected to iphone....I get calls, the music stops, anwser, and voice is projected through the car via 3.5mm to tape deck....they can hear me because the phone is in the car.

the addition "blue tooth" sounds like a load of BS to me.

The more I think about it, GROM is a waste. If I want a 3.5mm connection I would do the even cheaper DIY method with a relay. and charge it via the ciggerette lighter.

What????

If you get the 3.5 jack one, yes, but if you get the ipod or usb controllers, then you can control directly from the factory radio... yes, the factory radio will control a usb stick with thousands of songs in hundreds of directories...

When you say tape deck, do you mean like a tape deck adapter??? where you put the fake tape in the stereo? The audio quality on those is trash, same as with am/fm adapter... With the Grom, there is no hacking, if they say it works for your car, it works, and it works like it came that way from the factory... of course, if you want nice, you have to pay for it... Just think, if you would have saved $40 on some ebay junk, you would be on your way to a Grom unit...
