Default Is it safe?

Just curious, is it safe to drive on snow mode daily when ur not in a snowy/icy road? Asking because I tried driving on snow mode on the way to school (60 miles both ways) today and feels like i saved more gas. Normal mode at 70 cruising = mpg needle at 21, Snow mode at 65-70mph cruising = mpg needle at around 40+

I am going to try driving snow mode daily to see how much improvement i get on a full tank. If driving on snow mode daily on a non snowy/icy road is bad for the car, LET ME KNOW!

Thanks in advance. I'll post up how much gas mileage improvement i get after a week or two

It may give me better gas mileage but is it safe for the car? That is my question

Uhm. The only thing it says in the manual is that it decreases engine output for slippery or wet conditions. I'm not quite sure on how that works but it doesn't sound like it would speed up wear on the tires or anything like that. It doesn't do anything special like change suspension or whatever. If you do find that it increases fuel economy then post ur findings because gas prices are going way up, and this car drinks it like lemonade on a hot day.

The snow mode restricts the throttle body to only open at a certain amount.....for example, drive in a gear(say second) give it half throttle, then push the snow button and you will see how it reacts, the car will either accelerate faster(If turning off) or bog down(Turning it on) Its simpally safe and wont cause any damage.

I was just going to try this today but I'm glad I found this post first. I guess we are doomed with poor gas mileage, not much you can really do but change your driving habit.

I have tried this at 60mph with the cruise control on and I saw no difference in my MPG gauge when switched between snow mode and normal I got excited when I first read this.
