i have a 2001 IS300 auto ....
traction off light on cluster is flashing
recently bought the car
i wash out the air intake box not whole engine ..
and i also change rotors and pads ...
the light WASNT flashing before

 

check the fuse at the engine compartment it may be blow hope this help you.....

 

Trac light flashing usually means random misfire. Check your coil packs and plugs

 

ya tru that but its wuznt flashing before i change the brakes and wash those stuff

 

why dont you pull the codes at autozone or advanced and find out what the problem really is... just a thought

 

is ur check engine lite on too? every time my check engine lite comes on bcuz of a misfire the trac off lite flashes nobody knows why but it does. u should check ur spark plugs that u didnt get any water in there if u did thats ur problem but Dsouth mia is rite jus get the codes and then u can really know wats wrong P0133 is a misfire code for example.

 

Yeah man pull the codes but I asked the dealer about why multiple lights come on when engine check light is on he told me to get ur attention so u can bring it to the dealer..lol

ya ima do that saturday .. this car is a lil touchy ... every thing is interconnected ...
my civic was wayyy similar lol



there is no check engine lite ... thats if it even works ... the guy own guyed it before seem like some who wud pull a fuse or something like that ... dont no how i got suckered into buyin this car

 

one more thing i forgot to mention ... like passenger side rear wheel bearing is bad( humming while i drive ..also both lower control arms are messed up .... now wrys those r being fixed on saturday )
can that affect it to

 

I fix the prob ... I bought electronics spray cleaner from radio shack ... Remove the MAL .. Spray the lil bulb lookin thing inside and also the connectors and reinstalled it ... Disconnected battery like sit for about 10 minute off .. Replaced ... Turn on car ... Light stop flashing and trac control works. Now .. So wen I makin a turn and press the gas I don't slide no more at least not as much ... Did it weekend pass its been 4 days and it works like normal

 

What is the MAL and where is it located?

 

oh im sry ... MAF -== mass air flow sensor ... that on your air intake ... has an approx 1 inch wide plug and has two small screws remove those and pull it off

 

oh ok, thanks...I have the same problem...I'll give it a try tomorrow and see if it works for me
