(for 04 is300 non-navi) i just did this its actually not very complicated. There are are only four bolts involved (for my non-navi) two are on top where the storage bin/navi spot are. You'll see a thin plastic plate that use a flat head or knife to gently remove. The other two are on the bottom behind the traction control/snow buttons. To remove this simply put your hand in the bottom bin and gently pull towards you. Remove the bolts, then the stereo in pretty much out. If you need pics let me know. After tearing into my it was refreshingly simple compared to some of the others i've done.
also on a side note, the shifter may be in the way slightly.

here is a grom install on a non nav. take your time. check every bolt, the bolt are in pairs, left and right side. rate 1-10 being hard. i give it a 6. love the grom unit. cd player stop working, bluetooth from my bb and android. mp3 or streaming online music. got a aux 3.5mm too for mp3 player. Audio quality on bluetooth is amazing! same quality as cd player. did not want to change to aftermarktet headunit and mess around with wiring and loose the OEM clean audio quality.
