Default Problem with my 04 IS

Last friday i purchased an 04 IS. Well i went to start it today and the key will not turn it's like the ignition is locked. Anyone ever had this problem?

is the wheel locked? did you try turning the steering wheel while turning the key?

Yeah sat there for about an hour messing with it. My only solution at this point is to take it down to toyota in the morning. I googled my problem and im not the only person this has happened too.

try moving the steering wheel and turning the key

Make sure you move the steering wheel left and right while trying to remove the key back and forth. (as stated above)

Make sure your key is oem, sometimes other "cuts" are too rough and can cause the key to get stuck or cause tumblers to fail.

Could possibly need an ignition cylinder overhaul

We got it started. I just kept messing with it.

step on your brake and turn your steering wheels left and right to get out of steering wheel lock
