Just bought a 02 IS300 everything is perfect except when i start my car I have a strange noise that sounds like a grunt pause grunt continuous noise coming from the rear of the engine I believe its very odd. The noise is heard mostly when im in park noise increases when im accelerating but other noises drown it out like engine rev etc when im driving down the road. It seems to come from the back of the engine rather than the front which was odd when I first was thinking it was the timing belt but it wasnt and then the exhaust manifold which I havent yet tested. I have no MIL's, checked all the fluids was good, it was inspected by the dealerships mechanic but yea... car has 105k on the odo.

I havent dug into it yet just want to see others response in case its a familiar problem in the is300. However, I have three 2jz's and this is the only vvti model I do have and only 2jz to make the noise however the others are big singles so they aren't quite at all lol.
