Default remote key battery

Hello, I'm new at this so hope you can help me. I have to change the battery for the remote key of my 05 is300. How do I open the remote key and what kind of battery do I need? thank you.

there is a little phillips head screw on the backside of your key, remove that screw and pop the cover off, then take the remote part out of the key and there are two little phillips head screws on that cover, take those out and pop that cover off and your battery is right there and just pops out. I'm not sure what kind of battery it is, but just take it to a shop that sells a wide variety of batteries and give it to them and they will find you what you need should be $3-$4.

Just open your key up and open the transmitter and the battery is there.
I think it's a #5 if I remember correctly.
I just got my battery at the walmart watch department for $5

But that was a bad idea, the battery lasted me only like 3 months.
Now I gotta get another one, transmitter is completely dead again.. wtf..
I need to find a good battery...

So i tried to open up the remote key but as I was trying, I realize that the previous owner had super glue the remote altogether. so I took out the key. i don't think I have any option other than to get a new remote.

If anyone had bought a remote online plz any advice would be appreciated. thank you

did they superglue the actual key together or the transponder part inside the key? you may just need to get a new key shell for around $10-$15 and get it laser cut for $20-$30 and get a new remote battery then swap the transponder part out.

I got my spare key on ebay thanks to the advice of 03LexIS300 on here.
The key is great, haven't gotten it cut yet but it looks great.

it is gold color, and not steel. but with some use it turns silver. my original lexus key is not steel either, but it is like a polished aluminum not gold. but that is the only difference i see is the color of the ebay key compared to OEM.

This is my key from same ebay seller

The previous owner superglue the transponder part. I took out the key part from the transponder but I can't swap the transponder part out. I am thinking I have to buy a new transponder and set it up with the car alarm system.

The key I got from this seller was like the one in the picture on the ebay link and the back of it didn't say all the stuff like my factory one did. I wish he would have sent me a key like yours.
