A month or so ago, the CD changer in my IS ate all 6 CDs. Yesterday, I finally got them back from Lexus. Half of them are badly scratched, although they still seem to play. That's not what makes me angry, however. Enclosed with my CDs was a photocopied sheet of paper labelled "Reasons why you may have CD complaints."

Beyone the obvious things (odd shapes, 3 inch CDs, it goes on to say that "transparent" disks should not be played. And three of my 6 CDs came back in sleeves labelled "This disk is transparent. Do not play" (or words to that effect).

To make it clear, these are commercial, store bought CDs, not home burnt ones (which Lexus also says I can't use). I am outraged that Lexus would sell a car with a CD player that is incapable of playing a significant percentage of standard, commercial CDs that can be played in any other CD player in the world. There was nothing in the advertising, or owner's manual, warning about this, and if there had been I probably wouldn't have bought the car.

I'm going to write Lexus to complain about this, and I think I'm going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commisson, too. I'll keep you all posted on what I hear back.

Sorry to hear of that. Mayb you can get some $$ for them.
On another note:
My ol SC300 and SC400 did not like to play CDR's, but my GS4 plays everything fine. No errors.
