Coustic made a "bass pump" system in the 90's under their design reference line as seen below:



It was the first commercially available "Servodrive style" V setup for magnetic driven subs. The original servodrive was released in 1992 and featured in Car Audio and Electronics using two 15 inch subs.





I've collected two free air subs and will be experimenting with a servodrive style setup which will hang 2 tens off the back deck in the V box. I know the subs will work well in the trunk as I have ran the same subs free air in previous years. They are a set of vintage 1994 Pioneer IMPP subs that have zero play time on them (got lucky and found some NOS).

This setup will replace my slimbox, which has been good to me. By choosing the IMPP subs I won't have to worry with snappiness or cone control as they are designed with dual spiders and bumped backplates to have very large range of control. Just need to use some high power to keep the cones in check and it'll be fine. :-)

So out with the old........





.....and I'm beginning on cutting the new right now. Traditionally you want to keep a servodrive style box down to about 5 inches wide for tens.

This setup will still affect the ski pass, but will remove the box from the trunk.
